Luke began Luke Fallon Sport & Game Fishing in 2000 guiding from his home town on Townsville primarily for barra in the local river systems. Over the many years since he has spent time in both the saltwater and impoundments all along the Queensland coast guiding his clients onto fish of a lifetime.
Luke is also well known in Australian game fishing circles as a veteran of 39 Cairns giant black marlin seasons since starting as a crewman as a teenager.
The biggest tell of a great fishing guide is one who spends all their spare time on the water for the pure love of fishing!
And this is certainly true of Luke. He has fished all over the world for the pure love of it, from barramundi and black marlin at home, to tarpon and snook and sailfish in Florida, and beyond.
For impoundment barra he started fishing Peter Faust Dam in the 1990’s when it first opened. He has spent many a season at both Tinaroo and Monduran dams and also regularly fishes Kinchent, Temburra, Callide and Awonga dams.
In the salt, he began fishing Townsville and Hinchenbrook with the legendary Vic McCristal as a teenager and most recently spent 9 seasons guiding in the Gulf of Carpentaria followed by three seasons in the Great Sandy Straits (Fraser Island). In 2021 he put a client onto a 123cm saltwater monster there – a truly memorable fish for that far south!
On the gamefishing scene he has skippered clients to marlin – blue, black and striped – all along the east coast of Australia from Cairns to the Whitsundays, to Fraser Island, the Gold Coast and as far south as Bermagui on traditional light and heavy tackle as well as fly.

WHO WE ARE
Luke Fallon Sport & Game Fishing is run by the husband and wife team of Luke and Kelly (Dalling) Fallon. Luke and Kelly grew up fishing in the same game fishing club as youngsters, and have been running the charter businesses together since 2010. They still love fishing together and that’s what you’ll likely find them doing on their time off!
Luke is your fishing guide. His extensive fishing knowledge and experience honed over 30 years of chartering is to the benefit of all our guests. He is also a Master V and MED 1.
Kelly is a qualified Coxswain Class 1 and a veteran of 19 marlin seasons herself. She is also a talented fishing writer and photographer (most of the photographs you see on these pages are hers). Kelly also takes care of the websites, bookings and logistics and, cooks for our guests on accommodation packages.
