Charter Terms & Conditions

Giant black marlin Charters Terms & Conditions

Please note that our fishing is primarily catch and release only.

Upon confirming your charter dates you will be sent a charter agreement that confirms the most important information including the rate, departure and return port, number of passengers in your party and a payment schedule.

A holding deposit equal to 40% of the charter is due at the time of booking in order to hold your dates.

The balance payment (equal to 60% of the charter fee) is due 45 days prior to the start of the trip.

We accept payments via direct deposit or Mastercard/Visa/Amex.

During October, our trips are primarily departing and returning to Cooktown which is a short, 55 minute regional flight north of Cairns. Its less than 4 hour drive for those of you who prefer a driving adventure (on sealed roads!)

At this time of year, the fish are typically along the northern end of the Ribbon Reefs and Cooktown offers us the best launching pad to access any part of the reef.

Once we move into November, the fish can move as well. So especially in early and mid November we may tentatively say a particular location be it Cooktown or Cairns, but we do ask our guests to keep a certain amount of flexibility in their schedules to change departure point if the need arises.

Coming all this way to experience the very best fishing on the Great Barrier Reef, we want to make sure we’re fishing in the right spot in order to put YOU onto the very best fishing!

We provided all linens and basic toiletries including bath gel and sunscreen but you are of course welcome to bring your own as well as sun smart clothing and hats are highly recommended.

All meals and snacks/softdrinks are provided – we will touch base regarding any intolerances or allergies in the leadup – but alcohol is BYO.

Please keep in mind while we all enjoy a drink or two or three at the end of the day, excessive consumption and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated.

Fishing tackle is provided.

If cancellation is required from the boat side due to engine troubles or weather, we will be in touch to reschedule or refund your trip.

Client side cancellations may only be processed once a full value / same value replacement charter is confirmed.

Keeping in mind that Peter Faust is a dam and therefore considered sheltered waters and weather related cancellations are quite unlikely. However, in the event weather conditions make it unsafe to fish, as determined by Luke – ie. storm activity, flooding rain etc – the charter will be rescheduled to a mutually suitable date, or all charter fees paid refunded.

In the event of a weather related charter cancellation, Luke Fallon Sport Fishing is not responsible for any ancillary costs/damages.

Koa has a full range of safety equipment including life jackets , flares, first aid kit and defibrillator on board.  Guests shall undertake an orientation and safety briefing before departure which includes a demonstration as to where this life saving equipment is kept.

Guests agree that each member of member of their group is medically and physically fit to attend and participate in the charter, and that the charter will not endanger the health of any member of his/her party or anyone else.

Guests are reminded that the boat is a moving platform, and therefore care must be taken at all times when moving about on board (and keeping in mind where your fellow anglers/crew are when casting lures 😊 ). In particular care must be taken when boarding and disembarking KOA at the ramp.

Guests should understand and appreciate the dangers involved in boating and fishing and assume and accept all these risks in making the booking. LFSGF does not accept any liability for personal injuries sustained whilst on charter.
